Chris Whittam

With over 50 years of experience in the steel industry, Chris brings an exceptional depth of international commercial and project expertise to Steel Traders Midlands.

Throughout his career, he has worked with leading steel distributors, manufacturers and major contractors across the oil, gas, energy and construction sectors, negotiating and managing multi-million-pound projects across global markets.

His experience includes leading the Projects Division for British Steel Distribution, formerly Walkersteel, and serving as Commercial Manager for Tenaris UK’s Downstream Unit, where he was responsible for major contract negotiations, project supply and high-value distribution sales.

Chris also spent five years working in the UAE, where he developed a dealer network from the ground up and supported major projects across the Gulf region, including work connected with organisations such as Saudi Aramco, ADNOC, PDO, Kuwait Oil and QatarEnergy.

Today, Chris brings that extensive international experience, commercial knowledge and understanding of global steel supply chains to Steel Traders Midlands, helping customers navigate complex requirements and identify the right supply solutions for their projects.
